About the Authors and Illustrator

Dr Miri Den is a child clinical psychologist (MPsych Clin, PhD). Miri has published peer-reviewed articles on child and adolescent mental health. She is the co-founder and director of Sydney-based psychology practice, The Family Den, dedicated to helping families build strong, secure attachment relationships. Miri has two children of her own.

Justine Abel is a special counsel in a large Australian law firm and has published articles on energy law. She is a mother of two

Carla Hoffenberg is a Sydney based illustrator who’s bright, joyful and positive illustrations spark curiosity and connection. She was inspired to pursue illustration after sketching her kids at home during lockdown, and has since illustrated 5 published books with one on the way.

We are submitting as a team because we have shaped this book collaboratively, with the words and images evolving side by side. We have a shared aim to create joyful and meaningful connections between children and their caregivers and assist in bedtime routines, helping kids to feel safe, loved and happy. We believe that our combined voices strengthen the impact of the picture book.
